Optimum nutrition for you
Optimum nutrition is the attainment of an ideal health state. The World Health Organisation defines health as "a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity". Nutritional therapy has been shown to help achieve this state of optimum health. With its roots in health sciences like biochemistry, you will be treated holistically, as unique and as an individual.
HOW?
Your daily food provides nutrients that enable you to maintain your health. Governments across the world recognise how important they are and provide R.D.A's(Recommended Daily Amounts) for groups of people (i.e. children). These figures were originally intended as average values for the population of 1941 and were not sufficient for optimal health levels. Research suggests that many of these amounts are not high enough and many of us are in a state of malnutrition (1). As a nutritional therapist I can recommend appropriate amounts for your individual needs.
Your unique genes and the environment you live in, ultimately affect your health and amount of energy, vigour and stamina when confronted with disease. Roger J Williams, PhD, writes that "individual differences in nutritional needs may have many basic causes" (2). These are in part explained by biochemical pathways in your body that require specific nutrients such as vitamins and minerals that may be deficient and consequently lead to illnesses and disease.
Nutritional therapy uses ever-changing research to promote optimum health.
